What does F1 F2 F3 mean??

Been on kingsnake a lot lately reading and was wondering what all these mean. Thanks for any replies.

F1 is first generation or offspring from WC animals. F2 is second generation or offspring from F1...

I still dont understand why you can breed related f1's without any problems.?

It's a purist thing.

There is nothing wrong with breeding related F1s. It has to occur in the wild. You might run into problems if there is a fatal gene though. The problem increases as you breed subsequently related generations. F1s are your best bet if you can't get unelated blood but it is good to try and outcross when you can.
