Changing supplements?

kat1204 Sep 04, 2006 11:00 AM

Hi Guys,

Thinking of changing the way of supplementing my 18 mnth male beardie.

At the mo he is supplemented with Repton x 2 per week by dusting on insects.(has calcium and vits in one tub)

Thinking of changing to using Neutrobal for vits and Reptivite for Calcium.

What I want to know is if this is a better way to supplement him and if it is, how often should i give him each one?

thanx in advance

Just my way of supplementing....I never use a calcium supplement that contains phosphorous because insects already have a poor calcium/phosphorous level. I rarely use a vitamin powder (twice a month) that has vitamin A from a preformed source. Beta carotene sources of vitamin A can't cause an overdose, but preformed can. I dust with a D3/calcium powder a couple of times a month because my dragons don't get direct sunlight. I have stuck with the same supplements for years because everything seems to be doing well!
