The Runaway RatSnake

blackfoot1c Sep 04, 2006 02:22 PM

Well, I found my snake, he was compfortable, under neath the cellar stairs. I put his food and water in his enclosure. I figured that one day I would find him in there just chillin'.
Occasionally he would come out, then run back when he noticed that someone was there, stick his head out, flicker that tongue.
I let him enjoy that freedom, I had no fear of it being injured or injurying a family member who knew he was there, they would come tell me that they saw him! He did eat the mice that I left for him and drank the fresh water. He became very docile, eventually I knew that he would just slither up one day, then I would just pick him up and return him to his den. Well, a few days ago, I received a call at work. They stated that thay had to kill a snake that was coming up the cellar stairs. I screamed and literally became sick. "SHE KILLED MY RATSNAKE"!
What disturbed me the most was how it was killed. She beat it down into submission and then chopped the head off! She acually sounded proud of what she did! I was totally pissed and stated that no one better be in my house when I get there! Of course no one was there when I arrived home. I investigated the crime scene. She used my Butcher's knife to kill the snake. Oh, one more thing, she said; "Satan was coming to get her from the cellar"! How sick, something is definitely wrong with this person (a friend of my son). Why didn't she tell my son that a snake was in the kitchen? Please exscuse me for going on and on but I need to talk to someone about this, I need to vent! MY SNAKE IS GONE!!! It's going to be a while before I get over this, maybe never! I'm angry with the entire household, sorry I just need to vent!

Thanx! U r right about that!

Ask the woman that killed your snake if it would be OK if you tied her up and threw her in a lake to see if she is a witch. The idea is that if she doesn't drown, then she is a witch. After all, if snakes are in league with the devil, then she needs to be tested the old fashion way to make shure she isn't a witch.

I am very sorry to hear what was done to your animal. I hope that you never let this person into your house again. Tell your son to stop hanging out with fools.

Yes! Oh Yeah!!!! She is really "dain bramged"! and no, she will never step into my home again, told her and told the son, and I truly mean that! I told him that she is afool, that she has a serious mental issue that need to be addressed! I told him that I cannot pick who he associates with, but that illness spreads like a virus, know who u allow into your home, consider ur parents! Thanx friend, I'll never forgive myself for allowing this to happen,....I'll never forget!

My wife tolerates snakes because she loves me.I also know if one escapes I will be paying for a nice motel room until I find it.
Im sorry for your loss.Maybe now is the time to be mellow and educate people that harmless, venomous and all reptiles in general arent evil.

If lead paint is so deadly why do they make it so delicious?

Thank U!!!

That's awful. My condolences on the loss of your Ratsnake. I've never had any of my snakes callously murdered, or killed by mental deficients. Guess I'm lucky.

Have come upon ignoramuses that have just completed assassinations of wild snakes. I found one individual by the side of the road who had just beaten to death a mating pair of Black Kingsnakes (L. g. nigra). He was quite pound at first, showing of the deceased to his family. After I was through explaining things to him, he was chagrined and embarrassed, and actually apologized for his wanton foolishness.

Sincerely,

John DeMelas
