I went to a big chain pet store on Saturday (don't know if I can say the name). Anyways, I was checking out the corns, they had a bunch of baby albinos and a baby snow. Then I saw 2 larger snows in a critter keeper and asked an employee if I could check them out. One was a little smaller and was striking like crazy at me. As I was holding the other, the manager walked by and said they had this guy awhile and he would give him to me for 30.00 (he was marked 69.99) I've been contemplating a snow so it was fate. When I got him outside the store I noticed the colors were really neat. What I thought was pink under the flourescent lights, seems to be a peachy color, like pastel.
Now the question: While holding it in the store I noticed a small red speck about 3/4 down his back. It didn't move when I touched it and it won't come off with a wet tissue or a scrape from my nail. It looks like it's "in" the scales. I remember seeing a leucistic rat at a show a few years ago with the same thing. Any ideas?
Here's a few pics:
The first and second pics don't show the true peach color, but you get the idea. I'm assuming it's an 05' by the size. Very tame also. The third pic is the spot, best shot I could get while he was moving. Thanks...
John
