Charlie update

captotterboy Sep 04, 2006 07:04 PM

Hey all,
I have not had a lot of time to be on the forum, but i wanted to give an update.

I gave charlie his third shot of seven today to handle the infection he has. I have noticed three things;

1/ The infection is not oozing. It is still swollen, but it is no longer oozing stuff. So i guess thats good.

2/ He has gone through a color change. I dont know if it has something to do with shots making feel weird, or if he is feeling better. Im not sure.

3/ he has been eating less since started on the shots routine. Is this a normal side effect of having to get an anti-biotic shot in the arm every thre days?

for some other stuff. They had a GIANT chameleon at the philadelphia reptile expo yesterday. I cant remember what it was called, but it was a monster. Its wasnt a typical commecial species (jackson, four horn, panther, veiled, carpet, ect).

Also, i got a snake. They had a show special young jungle cal. king female. Shes great. I will have pictures soon. I havnt introduced her to charlie yet.....

Because of the nature of chameleons (that whole changing color thing) its difficult to tell, but i think it was the third one down. My only problem with it was that it was WC only a few months ago.

You said..."He has gone through a color change. I dont know if it has something to do with shots making feel weird, or if he is feeling better. Im not sure." if the color change is temporary, then it could be the medication, especially if its baytril.

You said..."he has been eating less since started on the shots routine. Is this a normal side effect of having to get an anti-biotic shot in the arm every thre days?"...it likely is from the antibiotic.

Looking forward to seeing your new snake!
Hope Charlie is soon 100%!

That species doesn't vary much in colour. Usually greens, yellows, whites and blues. You can find more information on "Melleri" at the www.MelleriDiscover.com site.

Unfortunately the site is down today but should be back very soon.
