pinky conversion

ssshane Sep 04, 2006 08:03 PM

Hello everyone. I just recently picked up another GBK. This is the first one I have ever bought that wasn't converted to eating pinkies. What are the best steps to take? I am gonna call a few local pet stores tommarrow to try and track down an anole for scenting. Is this the best route to take? I have already tried braining one, with no luck. But it could have been too soon. I just got her from a show( no telling what she had been through), set her up in a new enclosure, so its all new to her. Thanks for the help.

i use house geckos.. i have had the same 5 house geckos in my freezer for years..

i just throw defrosted pinks into the zip lock bag with the geckos for a few seconds for scenting and feed them out for the first few meals. Then with each meal i scent less and less till i no longer need to scent.. this usually takes about 6 meals, but will vary with each animal..

What kind of geckos are you using. I was heading out tommarrow to buy an anole. Thanks for the reply>

Try the Mediterranean Geckos, they are easy to find everywhere and work much better than an Anole. If you can get an Earless or a Spiny you will be even better off than with the gecko.
