Power feeding?

sheshanaga Sep 05, 2006 02:38 PM

So what exactly is power feeding?

I have a neonate and am thinking about feeding it one small pinkie every four days in an effort to have it grow faster. Is this bad?
I've read that snakes are opportunistic feeders, meaning they will eat what they find when they find it. Becasue of this, I would think my schedule is ok?

I usually feed my babies on Wednesday, and again on Sat/Sun depending on if they've pooped by then. The pinkies I feed them aren't very big, and the lump is gone in less than 24 hours anyways, and they're using all of the energy they get to GROW...

I used to feed Frosty three pinks twice a week, when he had poo'd the vet said it would be fine to feed him again, but only after he'd went. So I would wait 3 or 4 days then feed him again, it cost a bit more for awhile, but now he's as long as my leg and eating adult mice at 18 months. Everyone kept telling me to upgrade him I was just scared. So that being said, I don't think feeding your baby after he poo's is such a bad idea as thats when they get hungry. But as he gets older, and his meals increase in size, you'll be able to decrease the frequency of which you feed him because it'll take him a little longer to digest one large mouse than it does to digest three lil pinkies, see the point? Good luck with ya baby
