Anyone know what species?

The news media (what a surpride) has been referring to t he snake that killed the young man in Indiana as a "python", very generic of course. I'm just wondering if anyone knows which species of python it was.

Im not sure how reliable it was, but apparantly one of the family members corrected a newspaper columnist and told them it wasn't a burmese it was a retic, which they informed him it was a similiar species.
