You’re on the list already. And I have not come up with a price yet. What would you sell them for? Of course you want to get them at the lowest price possible but then when you have some to sell you would want the highest price possible, right? So whatever price I put on them would just set the bar for every one else that produces them latter so Im sure all of you would want me to price them real high right? I have never seen them for sell at any set price I and I don’t think anyone else will be producing them for a few years so how do you set a price for snakes that may be the only ones available? Or are they just going to be worth whatever people are willing to pay for them? If so I should star them high and if no one buys them for a while then I just drop the price a bit until people are willing to pay a set price. Any one that can help me out with their thought on this would be great. And if you don’t want others to know your thought on it you can email me direct. Thanks.

If you sell them all for $5 and a pack of cigarettes, everyone else will still turn around and sell them for hundreds of dollars.

Price them according to what the snakes are worth to you. From the looks of things - quite a lot.

thanks for your help! So how much do all of you plan on selling your Dorbignyi for? after you buy them from me for $5.00 and a pack of cigs...

I would sell them around, or just a little more, than the Tricolors. Still a good profit, but not so out there that the avid hobbist could not afford/justify them. You already have a few that want some, but if they produce like Tricolors, do you know that many people. Just my 2 cents, and what I would do if in your position. Hope they do well for you, and when you decide on a price I may just ask to be put on the list as well.

Here’s what I don’t understand about pricing. If people are paying 4000.00 a pair for rat snakes, like the Latacincta or 1000.00 each for the Vaillanti or 1200.00 to 1500.00 each for albino western hogs or even 10,000.00 to 50,000.00 or more for some of the ball pythons out there, then why wouldn't these guys be worth as much or more due to only 1 or 2 people even producing them in the USA at this point? Maybe I just don’t understand how pricing works! Or are they worth whatever people are willing to pay? And if so why do people pay so much for the high priced balls and others and they may be the 100th person or more to have them and with these guys at this point people buying them now would be able to be the 3rd or 4rth person producing them which should mean that the market will not be flooded with them any time soon so they would still be able to bring in a good price. I hope someone can help me understand. Thanks.

I think it is a matter of how popular they are in the pet trade. Balls, corns and rats are VERY popular in the trade. Lots have them and lots want them. Hoggies are starting to get there, but have not made it in the popularity contest. High demand, low production higher dollar. The problem is that there is not a high demand for hogs of any type. Just look and the Madagascans...great animals, but not a lot of demand. People that have them LOVE them, but you don't really see a lot of them around. It really is just a demand thing. You can have the best product in the world, but if not a lot of people want it, it is not worth very much. Just my thoughts.
