Hi.
I'm curious how big male's and female's honduras Mainland boa's gonna get when they are full grown??
Thanks.
There is a dwarf strain and a larger strain of mainland Hondurans. Dwarfs seem to be more common and get 5-6 feet. My 3 yr. old female is just over 4 ft. and beautiful.

Dennis Sargent recorded a mainland female at 13 feet.

WOW do you realy mean that??I thought Honduras boa's wouldn't grow bigger than 6 feet.So a mainland could grow over 6 feet??
Do males also grow over 6 feet in length??
My 11 year old hogs are close to 8ft.. I have also seen 8ft older sonorans. Boas never stop growing their rate of growth just slows down with age. So if you get a boa and care for it well enough it will eventualy get pretty good sized no matter what the average adult size is.

Hi Ed.
Thanks for your reply!! So they can grow over 8 foot in lenght??
Do males get that big to??
I ask this question because People told me that honduran boa's grow no bigger than 5 ore 6 ft??
My male and female are both close to 5.5 ft is this a normal lenght for 6 year old hondurans??
Can you tell me whichs boa's stay very small??
Thanks for you time.
Most of the central americans are going to be smaller, but I don't think dwarf is a good term for most of them. Over a long enough time span they can get big, but big for a central american is going to be different than big for a BCC. My male and female hogs are close to the same lenght 7.5-8ft at 11 years old, but they are considerably lighter (weight wise) than a colombian or BCC the same lenght.
I think a lot of snakes in general get called a "dwarf" because they are sexualy mature at a smaller size, rather than them always staying small. Big and small are relative terms when it comes to all of the different locality types. So I'd just figure they always have the potential to get bigger than what the averge size stated is.

Sounds about right for the hondos. I think the smallest are the Tarahumara boas. Cay Caulkers also stay pretty small. I really like my hondos though, great boas great size.

I hear a lot of different sizes for hondos'.
A German guy told me who has hondos Mainland for 30 years that they don't grow bigger than 5 ft.males even less than 5 ft.
So i don't what to believe anymore! But now i found someone who has
pure hondos with pedigree and all paperwork. His pair of hondos
are less than 5 ft and 5 years old.
Are ther still wc hondurans for sale in the usa??
There is not likely to be any wild caught. Honduras stopped exports on cites animals in 89.

Yes i'v been told. But there are still wc hondurans offered for sale in the usa and europe.
I bought mine from a petshop in europe andt they told me that the animals where wc from honduras. How is it possible to offer animals from honduras if it's closed in 1989??
If I saw WC, I would expect 3 options:
Illegally obtained
Obtained prior to the close in 89 (so very old boas)
Mistaken as honduran or misrepresented as honduran
I don't think they would be cb listed as wc. There should be no wc hondurans though.
