Why is it...

JLC Aug 05, 2003 12:56 AM

...that some poeple go out of their way to find fault and attack anything that might be seen as good in someone else's life? Why is it they can offer no useful solutions (or even not-so-useful solutions!) to the very things they complain so vehemently about?

Most of ya'll don't know me...well, no one here does, really. But some of you have seen me post on the pit forum. I'm new to these forums and just now exploring them and found this one, glad to have a place for general discussions about everyday things with people who have similar interests. I've lurked for awhile and read the venom (pun intended) spewed on these pages. I was surprised, because on the pit forum, everyone seems so friendly and all get along. But...it IS a highly moderated and specific forum. Not much cause for someone to attack someone there...

I hope there are other, less flamable, discussions on this forum from time to time. But if someone hauls out the flame-thrower, they really shouldn't be surprised when others fight back.

It's astonishing how someone starts a thread with vociferous attacks, and then acts surprised when others dare to defend against those attacks. What did they expect? Did they expect strong, proud people to just sit back and blink in stunned shock at their scathing wit and observation??? I dare say those same instigators would be highly disappointed if you DIDN'T respond and fight back. It would leave them sitting in their little desk chairs with nothing at all to do but sit and refresh the board over and over again, waiting for someone to argue with and call names.

Just my two cents in these wee hours of the morning. Maybe I'm bored and hoping to start a fight. But mostly, I'm just dipping my toe into the waters here and hoping for an interesting place to visit and express my views from time to time.

Ya'll be nice...

Welcome Judy! Stick around. Have some fun. I'm a Pit enthusiast as well. I collect several locality bulls, one Jani, one female La. Pine, and a few select Guyanan redtail boas. Those red Capes are beautiful. I hear they're as difficult to get started as Jani. Seems they're tempermental. That being said, please do chime in. The more, the merrier.

So you went with a red cape? Great choice :D Those are on my dream list .

And if venom is involved, can I be a rear fanged species? Maybe H. gigas? Or Oxybelis? Perhaps something really cool...boomslang maybe?
It's a new version of this forum, so there really haven't been many discussions but for the politics. Me, I'm thinking of something herp related, I'll post it when this all dies down *L*

Peace out
Paul
