JCP Health Issue!

shiveley Sep 06, 2006 01:31 PM

I checked in on my JCP this morning, as I always when I leave for work, and noticed that my JCP's upper lips and lower jaw seem to be swollen. Now, it has been uncharacteristically hot over the last few days (and as a result his enclosure may have been drier than usual), but other than that I can think of nothing that would have caused this. He last ate one week ago, and had no problems during that feeding. His appearance seemed normal until this morning.

I didn't have time to examine him more closely this morning, but do plan to do so first thing this evening. I know mouth-rot is something that I should consider but find that somewhat unlikely.

Does anybody have any advice or suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not a vet, and can't see the animal, but sounds like it could be MR to me. Stress of any kind can presumably be the culprit (higher temps, humidity too low, etc.)
Good luck.
