Possible double het/hybino pyro female

jeph Aug 05, 2003 01:05 AM

Hi,
I think all the pyros out of Brian Braczyaks hypo and albino line are poss. double hets though. This girls father was a het/albino poss. het/hypo and the mother was a het/albino. I think when she grows up I'll breed her x my het/hypo male-(who is from Brians line), just to see what happens, altough with that low-band count, only 28 to the vent, it would be neat to breed her x a male i have with only 25 bands to the vent, but since shes a poss.het its best to test breed her to find out if shes a het or not. Well the pic is a little blurry, she wouldnt sit still, but Terry Dunham produced her this year from animals out of Brians line.

I agree with your assumption of certain genes being "highly possible" in offspring from certain projects. There are too many possible hets out there as a by-product of the original intent of a project. That's why accurate record keeping is a must! And a lot of people are doing just that - keeping accurate records.

Hi Kerby,
Yeah, I agree. Especially when 2 color morphs are from the same line, like the hypo and anery black gap alternas that Dan Jhonson has. But with perfect record keeping it makes it a little bit easier to keep track of. Thats why I also keep very accurate records of all my breedings. Good luck man with those cal.kings, you got some of the nicest I've seen, I really like that white-headed one you produced a few days ago, I've never seen one like it before.

Wish I could take credit for that white-headed cal king, but it wasn't anything I planned; just a gift from the snake-gods It's like Christmas - opening up all those presents (eggs hatching) during the summer months only to realize that PATIENCE in the herp industry is measured in years..... But that is why they make winters/brumation - so that we can plan, plan and re-plan our breeding projects for the next spring LOL

How many times do I look at my breeder list during the winter time?????

Got your e-mail.
