ilinibruin Sep 06, 2006 04:49 PM

Ive been doing research about snakes and came across these two. I was wondering what would make a better first snake?

They are about the same and both good choices, but Pueblan's may be a bit more jumpy...

Both are great snakes...I keep colonies of both. but as a FIRST Snake, I would say go with the sinaloan. They typically tend to be calmer as more easily handled as hatchlings and really stay calm their entire lives. Most peublans will calm down as they get larger, but I have some adults that constantly move when I hold them and never sit still!

Both are beautiful snakes and have pretty much the same care requiements. Both will generally eat well too. The main deciding factor is how much you plan to hold it and whether the calmness of the snake matters to you.

good luck!

Thanks Zenny. He keeps growing and shedding and looks nicer as time goes on!

I hope all your projects are going well this year.

SINALOANS, hands down. Been working with campbells over 20 years and "they're still crazy after all these years". May be exceptions out there but then I don't handle my guys unless I have too. They're locked up in cages. Leave them in peace. Just my 2 cents worth.
