Strange black spots...

Symptoms0fMercy Sep 06, 2006 09:21 PM

I've have a young iguana for a little while now. I'm not sure of his age, but he is around 17 inches head to tail I believe. A little while ago the top of his head got a grey tint to it, and now he has developed black-ish spots on his head and some on his back, along the sides of the spikes. The ones on his back are more splotchy looking, while the ones on his head look squiggly. :/ He's also gotten a lot more skittish since then... He doesn't let me near him anymore, he either runs to the opposite side of the cage or tries to tail whip my hand. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Can u provide us a photo?

Could be anything... Burn marks, mites (tho you'd see them move) or just it changing color (they do get some black striping).

The splotches on his back have definately gotten smaller, though you can still see them a little along the sides next to his spikes. The top of his head is still grey with some of the black-ish. My camera kinda sucks, but heres a picture.
