ball python wounded

i have an awesome spider ball python that ive had for over a year now and last night while he was shedding he must have rubbed against a log too hard and he cut open his skin. the wound isnt bleeding alot, but i would like to know if this could be dangerous to his health, and what i can do to help it.

Yes it can get infected. Clean the cut with bedodine ,rinse , pat dry and applie triple antibiotic cream . If it starts to ose or gets real puffy take to the vet.

Hi Vince,

You know, that's really an unusual occurrence - for a snake to just rub against a piece of wood and cut through its skin during a normal shed. Where on its body did it injure itself? Can you post a photo? I'm just curious.
