What do you think? Just another amel?

salemserpent Sep 06, 2006 10:35 PM

My wife and I bought an amelanistic that doesn't seem to have any visible red. Her saddles are pastel orange on a yellow ground. The photos don't do her justice since she loves to move. We were told she was an amel, but she doesn't look like any amels we've seen. Any thoughts, or just a pretty snake?

It's not "just another amel." It's your amel!!! And that makes it special! It is a good looking Amel. With that orange it might have a bit of Creamsicle. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Whatever she is, she's a lovely and surprisingly calm and friendly snake.

Pretty snake, definitely a keeper. It MAY have some creamsicle in it. I would check with the breeder if possible. I say MAY because I have produced an amel het for anery corn that looked very similar. Orange saddles on a white and orange background, no red. Out of several clutches, over 100 hatchlings, from the same amel x snow breeding I only produced 1 orange amel. There was no emory or creamsicle in that pair of breeders.
