best way to heat 40L

I just got a 40 gallon long tank for a good price, I was planning on moving my baby ball in it when she was a little older. What would be the best way to heat it for her basic temp. not her hot spot. I was thinking heat cable. Let me know what you think please.

Heat cable or heat tape ,both are good but I wouldn't put it in a 40 gall. tank until full grown or you could put in a divider or two and house 2 or more in one.
