something comes along.. and kicks you in the ass!....

i outfit my rodent shed with opening windows to help ventilate it out during the stinky and hot days..

screen to keep out the little flies and buggies.. i think its GOLDEN!.. works perfect!.. for 3 weeks...

then one morning.. i find a small hole chewed into the steel window screen.. i close the window and dont think anything of it.. other than something chewed in for some food and LEFT..

go outside this morning to find a WILD RAT wandering around on top of my rat rack..i chased that thing down.. killed it.. and found him covered in FLEAS!..

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH

so.. i gotta CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN.. and did i mention cleaning?!..

7-dust.. cleaning every 2-3 days now.. im so freakin paranoid!..

so.. for all you newbie keepers.. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE.. dont ASSUME nothing will ever happen.. cuz they WILL eventually!..

Oooo. Gross. I hate wild rats. Rat fleas can be very dangerous to your health!

Spray the crap out of them, man!. I use pro-vent to spray my rats.

Longtang. I like snakes and rats.

A very wise man once recomended that I cover holes with 1/2" hardware cloth and screen just for that very reason!

live and learn i guess.. problem solved now tho.. and only 8hrs worth of work to clean and disinfect everything!.. HAH
