Pacman wont eat...

tallgeese84 Sep 07, 2006 08:20 PM

Hello,

I fear my Pacman might be taking a turn for the worse. Has not eaten anything for about 2 months now. He runs away from the tongs when I try to feed him. Ive tried many foods, with and without the tongs. Ive tried crix, mealworms, feeder fish, and a live pinky. He ran away from the pinky and wouldnt even snap at it. He lays around with his hind legs behind him now, as opposed to underneath. Any suggestions on what I can do to maybe fix this?

When is the last time it passed a fecal?

How warm are you keeping the frog?

How old is the frog?

He passed a fecal about a week ago.

Im keeping his cage about 78-82 degrees with a UTH.

Hes about 8 months old.

If it is still passing fecals then it is unlikely to be impacted. If adult it is not unknown for them to feed much less frequently once they are sexually mature. My old male would eat about every two months as an adult during the winter time (but then I let him cool down to about 69 F).

I would suggest taking it to a vet to make sure that there isn't some other problem going on like "MBD".
