My Specks!

jerry Sep 08, 2006 09:53 AM

I have 2.2 specks now. I was given a LTC from Whitewater & a CB female this week, to go along with the 1.1 I have...Hope to get some breeding from these. When do these breed?...before, during or after burmation? My C. organus always breed after giving birth...June to September. I see alot of them being bred on here...wondering if any data is kept?

A Panament tail off to the right...Took it out & put it in another enclosure after I took the pics...do not want them breeding together...Hope I found a home for that one, waiting on a call back.

Very nice specks Jerry. Pyrrhus are very classical "textbook" spring breeders. I brumate mine from about Thanksgiving thru St. Pat's Day, put them together around the 1-2 week of April,(whether the female has shed or not), and then usually have offspring about this time of year. Some females eat right up 'til they give birth, others go off their feed roughly 3-4 weeks before birth. Pretty easy.

Thanks JimH for responding...They are awesome rattlers. Hope to do some good studies on these!
