MACRO pictures

ECC Sep 08, 2006 04:31 PM

Just got a new camera lens (105MM macro lens). These pics don't look any higher quality than my usual - but I just took it out of the box and of course I have not even opened up the instructions yet.

Below are some close-ups of 2 of my Edisto Island "Mosaic" Kings

Here is what a "wood lice" actually looks like. This is not a snake mite. Look at 4:00 in relation to the snake's eye.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Just kiddin'
Nice close up pics, though.
You should post some pics of those little ones you got from me - I don't even know what they look like. Remember, I've been over here for the whole time and married to a woman with limited camera skills, lol! THANKS,

Zee

I know what you mean by having to figure out all the camera can do. A lot of reading.

I just got a new camera as well. I went for small pocket size. A Sony Cybershot DSC-W30 at Wallyworld on clearance. On my macro setting you have to push down the shutter and then wait for a beep to get it in focus. Is it the same with your camera? It makes for difficult macro shots because the snakes won't sit still unless you are into ball pythons. I feel sorry for those honduran guys..HA HA HGA HA HA!

BTW, what camera did you get that has a 105MM macro lens?

I'm sure once you get a chance to really sit down and pour through the instructions you'll be really glad you did and you'll have some quality keepsake pics of your animals down the line.

Peter, those are really cool. I've been looking at a 105mm lens for my Nikon N80 as well. Do you use Nikon cameras? I'm still using my N80 film camera--I like to shot slides. But for quick digital stuff for posting or whatever I use a Nikon Coolpix 5600 which has a pretty decent macro feature. Nothing like your new lens though.
