Okay my eggs hatched out. 6 normal colors one of which was motely. 5 amels one of which was a motely. Parents are suposed to be a amel het stripe and a hypo het amel het anery. If I'm figuring right the fact I have 2 motelys meens that instead of my female is het motely instead of het stripe? And my male is het motely too?

ok, you kinda contradicted yourself. You said normal color, then Amel. If you mean they are all amel and one is motley, then yes, both parents are het Motley.
I am not a genetics expert, but motley and stripe are very similar. Maybe the person that sold them to you did not know the difference. Or, one is het for motley stripe and the other is only het for motley.
Hope this helps.
Play with one of the genetic predictor programs, its fun, might help

Sorry for the confusion. There are 11 hatchlings. I have normal colored normal patterened babies, normal colored motely looking babies, amel colored normal patterened babies, and a amel colored motely patterened baby.

If Mom is het for stripe and dad is het for motely would these guys look more motely or more towards striped? I was looking at them again today and their sides look a bit striped. Both parents have a normal pattern.

OK,
I am thinking the mother and father were both het motley.
I could be wrong considering stripe and motley are so closely related but I know you can get motleys from a stripe to het motley pairing, motley to het motley pairing or het motley to het motley pairing but I do not THINK you can get motleys from a het stripe to het motley pairing.
Like I said with stripe and motley being so closely related, I could be wrong but I don't think so.
