VA Beach Eastern Kingsnake -- f1 female

ECC Sep 09, 2006 06:10 PM

Phil Patton brought this little female (and 8 of her clutch mates) to me today. She is from a wild-caught gravid Eastern King caught in VA Beach.

Peter,
Those are absolutely beautiful kings. Awesome pictures for sure. They look very different from Currituck Co., NC kings even though if I remember correctly the two counties border each other. That is really neat although it makes my decision of where I want my next locale of Eastern king to be from a tougher decision. Very nice snakes to join an incredible collection. Great score Peter.

Cool Easterns Peter! That it 1 handsome male. About how many different locales of kings do you have? Not pairs or snakes, but just locales? I thought Southern MDs were the nicest, but those VA Beach are right up there. Thanks for sharing Peter. Nice lense, too. Derek

Now that is a beautiful eastern King. I do like those white bellies on this locality. Very nice.

The sex ratio was really male heavy, a real bummer for Pete.
Out of 14 eggs, 11 hatched with a total of 8.3. Hopefully next year it will lean a little toward the female heavy side. All but two ate live pinkies on the first try too, which always makes life easier. Pete, those photo's look great too. They almost make me want to buy them back from you!

Ah Phil - it's not a total "bummer" for me because the original trade was for 2.3 (and i keep a scorecard, remember?).

Can't wait 'till your ATB drops!!!!

Seriously though it is a little bit of a bummer considering I only got one healthy female (one female has a kink in her tail and Phil kept the third). With the rate that you have found Easterns in SE VA I am not too worried about it.

Don't worry I'll get those little boogers to breed if I have to hold a shotgun to their head!LOL! Your numero uno on the Eastern and Ammie list!
