Here's my baby meeting a baby garter

niki_athena Sep 09, 2006 09:51 PM

I live in Nevada, Wandering Garter snakes live here. The ones in my neighborhood are usually brownish gray with black checker pattern down their back. Nice snake they do NOT usually spray you with musk!

Here's my baby showing her early appreciation for herps with this sweet baby snake my husband caught and released.

I believe I met you and your husband at the Great Basin kingsnake survey
in May.
It's good to see you starting off Aspen on the right foot with
an early appreciation for garters.
Nice wandering garter too.

Take care,
Brian Eagar

Hi Brian,

Nice seeing you here. Having little Aspen is a lot of work. I remember your cute little girls too. I just wanted to show her off, I have barely been to the forum in several months.

Maybe we can go fieldherping again in the future.

The most fieldherping I've done was at that kingsnake roundup; however, my husband gave me a toy snake and I was walking Aspen around in the house and I thought "I don't remember putting the toy snake by my lizard's tank." Then I realized Ezra, my collared lizard, was really terrified and the snake moved. Apparently a wandering garter had come up from the sewage while my husband was fixing the sink. Eww!

Sincerely,
Nicole Marchington
