Neodesha cages and repair?

vegasnake Sep 09, 2006 11:50 PM

I have an opportunity to buy three 36" Neodesha cages very cheap. They are old, in fact they have Bush Herpetological stickers on them. My question is the tracks are old school and are not made out of the same material as my 24" models I bought before they stopped manufacturing cages. The tracks that I am referring to are where the glass slides, they have cracked and seem very brittle and could be dangerous if a heavy hot was placed in them. My question is has anyone ever fixed this problem and/or has an idea that I could use?

I have the same problem with some of my 24" cages which are housing kingsnakes. One temporary solution that would'nt hurt regardless is using nuts and bolts to clamp the pre-drilled glass to the cage. No snake would be able to get out without shattering the glass.
