Mali Uro native foods

UroTamer Sep 10, 2006 12:09 AM

I've been searching the web with little success in finding out about plants, insects, etc. that would be native to Mali, Africa. I've found a few things but nothing very comprehensive.
My Mali's are doing okay with what the Mali care sheets suggest, but I'd still like to know more about native diets for them. Can anyone point me to a site that might help?? THANKS

I can't be of any help but it sound like very interesting research. If you find anything out please let us know. Good luck

I've sent an e-mail to someone who has lots of knowledge about Mali's because he's been there. I'm just waiting for a reply, but I'm sure it will be good info to have. Even if some of the plants, etc. we can't get here.

The only similar info I have seen was from Danny Molco & Osnat Ben David researching ornates in the wild.

After hours and hours over days and weeks I FINALLY found a web site that tells about Mali Uromastyx in their NATURAL environment. Anyone who is interested can go to:

http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/uromastyx.html

It tells about how they really live in the African desert. Super interesting and worthwhile reading for anyone interested.
