paper bag trick

paper bag, dark container, or better yet, any container in a dark, quite room

nothing to distract him, no sound, light, movement, nothing

live fuzzy mouse, drop it in there, don't go in that room for 2 hours. if not gone, try again.

have gotten every one of them to eat this way...

if they are scared, or nervous, or in 'defensive mode', doesn't matter how good or tasty that mouse may be, it's as good as wood to him...

have to eliminate all distractions completely, and then it should be no problem.

it may take the baby an hour or even a day to settle down long enough to find it, but once he does, it is usually much easier the next times.
