New FWC hatchling

treeboa Sep 11, 2006 03:03 AM

I got a beautiful CB hatchling Hydrodynastes gigas at a local show on Saturday. I've read lots of caresheets and did a forum search but found nothing on feeding frequency. I forgot to ask the seller how often they were feeding him. I know they have a high metabolism. Does every 4-5 days sound reasonable. He ate for me on Sunday already. As Steve Irwin would say, "What a little beauty!"

4-5 days is good for a hatchling, I switched to weekly when mine was a year or so(and begining to get a little too fat, they will eat everytime and everything offered in my expierience)Mine has a very good feeding response, she was handlable until fairly recently and now I have to handle her with a hook cause she thinks everything is food haha. Good luck with yours.
