zeroto4legs Sep 11, 2006 05:49 AM

I was looking to get a pair of new snakes for x mas, and i came a across the Fwc's and i just love its like 3 snakes put into one the hood of a cobra it have rear fangs and it get a pretty good size, my questions are the following:

What tool will i need for handling i have a snake hook?
does this mean i need to use the satuff evrytime i handle them?
what size cage would be good for a pair?
whats the venom like to a 17 yr old kid?
is a cage thats like land that drops into a pond a good cage set up for them?
Feeding, since there rear fanged does that mean feed them live or still F/T?
when adults whats the size rat/mouse they will be eating?
Are the normaly good nature when your not feeding them?

thanks for all your help and any ifon on these guys would be great..

What tool will i need for handling i have a snake hook?
A snake hook works well, I sometimes just use gloves if I'm reaching in to change the water or something quick like that.

does this mean i need to use the satuff evrytime i handle them? It depends on the temperment of the individual, mine was docile as a baby and now she is quite aggressive

what size cage would be good for a pair? I wouldn't keep them together, but I would recommend a 20 gallon for each one(10 gallon would work for babies)

whats the venom like to a 17 yr old kid?
Everyone reacts differently to venom, so you never know exactly what it will do to you, so even though it's generally mild it's best to be careful around them.(In personal expierience it made my hand swell up like a bee sting)

is a cage thats like land that drops into a pond a good cage set up for them? As long as there is enough land for them to comfortablly live on, they do like to spend quite a bit of time in the water though.

Feeding, since there rear fanged does that mean feed them live or still F/T? Mine takes F/T without a problem

when adults whats the size rat/mouse they will be eating? small rats

Are the normaly good nature when your not feeding them? like i said before, mine was friendly as a hatchling, but now she is not. Sometimes she'll act like she's going to be nice and then strike with no warning, so you can't let your gaurd down. They aren't corns or ball pythons, meaning don't get one expecting to get it out and play with it, but they make wonderful display animals.
