i can't get the answer's anywhere else, that's what these forums are for right? thank you and please bear with me.
What type of effect would the following combinations produce in offspring.
Female - desert phase cal king.
xmale Mexican black king
or a male banded albino kingsnake
or male desert phase cal king - i'm trying to decide on a male to
breed with my desert female,
my little girl want's a "pink babie"albino) but i'm considering
just getting an albino male to make her happy.
Thanks,
DJW

I have owned or produced those combinations.

I bred an albino Cal to a nice B&W Cal. The babies hatched out looking B&W, then changed to a very pretty light brown and clean light yellow as they grew up. Surprisingly, the brown background was lighter than what you'd expect for an average Coastal Cal. Very nice snakes.

I owned a B&W Cal x Mexican black x albino Cal king. He had a broken pattern that was off-white and a dark belly. The ground color was chocolate brown. I got him as an adult and kept him for a long long time. Nice snake, very mellow but not as handsome as a B&W alone or a Mexican black alone IMO.

I vote for the albino x B&W king. It will make your daughter happy too.

You need to post on the Hybrid forum. What does the TXDM stand for? Tom

TXDM Aug 05, 2003 04:36 PM

Why would it need to be in the hybrid forumn?
all the snakes i listed are kingsnakes,
TeXas DeathMetal
Deadhorse, agony comumn ,metagore, south texas spic's ect, also reffered to as
TXHC

As he said, all the snakes concerned are kingsnakes....I thought hybrids were things like milksnakes x kingsnakes etc. I didn't think that kingsnakes, no matter what kind, mixed together would be considered a hybrid?
I personally own 1 kingsnake x milksnake cross, I bought him as a kingsnake hatchling over 10 years ago and it turned out he was a hybrid. He is a Cal king/Sinaloan milk, very handsome and one of the nicest tempered snakes I've ever owned, but I wouldn't mix them up like that myself *shrugs*

I am also in TX and had hoped you meant Texas Death Metal, I have played for many bands including Morpheus Descends, Incantation, and Nokturnel. On these forums it seems people mostly are concerned with Cal King X Cal King etc........once you start with the what do I get if I breed a this to a that answers get a little hostile. What part of TX are you in? Are you going to the Houston show? Tom

Hmmm..I don't know what you'd get with the Mexi Black male, but with the Desert male you would get 100% desert kings, and with the albino banded male you'll get some aberrant babies, probably quite attractive though, which will at least be hets for albino.
I'd go for the albino
Let us know what you decide!

Female - desert phase cal king.
xmale Mexican black king
This is why I suggested the Hybrid forum. Those people would point you in the right direction as far as mixing something into the Desert Cal King to get a pink albino baby. I would just look into Corn Morphs myself if I wanted a pink snake, possibly a real Pink Snow Corn. I have a knockout Pink Patternless Albino Southern Pine that is killer, but not exactly mellow.
