burm has no tounge?

so i really looked into my granite burms mouth and he doesn't have a tounge...i have never had a snake with this problem can anybody help me out or point me in the right direction..as is is having troubles eating...thanksGerald

He may still have one. You need to remember they can pull their tongue back to where you wont see it. I posted the story on your last post about the snake we delt with and we also looked for a tongue and didnt see one but them one day low and behold he started using it. Just because you didnt see it when you opened his mouth dose not mean it isnt there. If you read my responce to your last post it gives you how we delt with and over came him not eating.

i tried to heat up a mouse to around 100 or so and i also have tried leaving a rat pup in his cage over night..no go..if there are any more ideas or anything that would be great.ps thanks for the earlier help Gerald

contact the seller and tell them you have a snake with no tongue. They should replace it since it does not eat anyway.

I work at a shop here in the UK and we havve a 4 year old Dumeril Boa with no tongue. He was born this way, the female we have with him is probably 3 times his size.
We just have to assisted feed him, now he has done it for so long i only have to place the food infront of his lips. Hot and wet and he start's to drink the water off the prey item and then just open's his mouth around the head of the prey and eat's.
No need to get rid of the animal, just need's a little patience.
