Put it in a snake bag or pillow case and hit it against the wall/table, etc...

You can also use plastic bags from the store, just make sure you double bag.

Good luck.

What is wrong with killing a mouse in that manner?

I do it every week, works great... instant death.

I'm struggling to find anything wrong with my post?

I'm sorry. There is nothing wrong with your post. When I read it it looked like you said put the snake in a bag and hit it against the wall! LOL

that's what i do as well, although if you want it done quickly, this is not the way...there are times that one has to hit the wall a few times before they die...especially with rats....

What I do is put the mouse in a tank with a piece of dental floss. I then put on a Mel Torme album. After leaving the room for a little while, I return to find that the mouse has hung himself. This method works like a charm.

as a metal fan I would say the hanging is humane the record isn't lol toooo funny.

I'm not mad with insanity...I'm perfectly happy with it.

well what I do is break the neck... its easy and only takes 1 sec.
and its not messy...

I get a mouse and put it on something... then I hold it by its tale and but something on its neck.. I use a little flat wooden piece
and just press it down and pull the tale a bit backward.. within a second you will hear a little sound.. wich means the neck has broken.. and the mouse has died.. quick and easy.. I know my english sucks but I think you all get the idea.

Josh06 Aug 05, 2003 01:59 PM

I hold the neck down with a pencil, then pull the tail. I can't remember exactly what it is called, but it works very well.

I think it's called cervical dislocation. That's what I do, too. With small mice, I just whack 'em against something hard, but with rats I found it was alot harder....so I pin them and snap their neck. I think I'd like to try the dry-ice method. That sounds alot less graphic. (BTW your english is better than some that are born speaking the language!! )

If you have easy access to either Nitrogen (BEST) or CO2 (or dry ice, same thing). Put it in a glass jar with most of the top covered, insert a hose with either N2 or CO2 coming out and wait. No mess. The reason I say N2 is best is that CO2 will lower the pH of the mouses blood, how much, i don't know.

when i go to kill all my feeders i use an old cooler and place a small piece of dry ice in it then close the lid with the feeders and ice inside. within a few minutes the animals are asleep then dead. dry ice is cheap maybe 75 cents for a pound which i found to be enough to do in several rabbits, so mice and rats will be no problem

Josh06 Aug 05, 2003 09:31 PM

Do you just drop the mouse/rat/rabbit in there right with the dry ice??

i usually put the pieces of dry ice into a plastic cup then put the cup and the animals in cooler. i then pour some warm water onto the dryice to make it sublime faster and produce gas quicker. shut the lid and let the gas build up.dont lock the lid the gas needs to expand and can pop the lid off . in a few minutes the job is done. it is clean painless and quick. the lack of oxygen causes them to go to sleep.

Yea, I know about dry ice exploding. In my more "immature" days me and my friends used to take dry ice, then put it in some gatorade bottles. Then we would bury the bottle real quick and the bottle would explode, it was cool then, kinda stupid when I look back on it...
