All black Boa? Super Motley or what?

tcdrover Sep 12, 2006 11:14 AM

There is an absolutely gorgeous pic of an all black baby boa
below. Is that a Super Motley?

Does anyone have any other pics of an all black boa?

A super Motley is an F2 Motley from two Motley parents?

How many would end up all black, or do they lighten up as
they mature?

Don't they have some 'special' nickname for them?

Jeremy Stone's post? If so, that is a Super Motley.

You are correct, Motley X Motley creates that beauty. No special names, we don't like confusion here like those BP breeders.

The C.A. Super Motley is all Black and stays that way.

The Colombian Super Motleys (what you saw) can range from a purpleish color to black. What causes the difference in color in the Colombian Supers is not fully known, there are theories.

I rarely see pics of these. There must have been plenty of
Motley to Motley breedings this year. (Maybe not??).

ther was a black boa. It was thought to be another subspecies of boa, but that is not now thought to be true. They were called B. C. Melanogaster. You could call any black boa 'hypermelanistic' though.
