Hi, I have my spectacled caiman in a 75 gallon tank (he's only around 20 inches at the moment, building his large enclosure as we speak.
). I have around 6 inches of water in the enclosure, and he never eats the feeder fish in his tank. I imagine its because babies and juvis wait in shallow water to catch fish right? I figure thats what it is, but any advice would be great. I feed him atleast 10 mealworms a day, aswell as crickets, superworms, earthworms, and pinkie mice.
Also, I can't get rid of green algae in his tank, and it is on his body aswell, I have a fluval 301 in his tank so the water should be clean, aswell as water changes every 2 weeks. Is algea a concern? Can it harm him? I picked up 6 chinese algea eaters for the tank aswell and their getting rid of alot of it, if he eats them he does.
Thanks.
