white's dumpy treefrog

brandee_lynn83 Sep 12, 2006 02:25 PM

My treefrog has a purple spot/bruise on its throat and its sort of swollen. Does anyone know what this might be?
Thanks

You would have to post a pic to be sure of anything.

My best guess is that your frog is male ^^ the throat of the males get darker, almost purplish and expand from calling.

I think my frog owns a megaphone....

that could just mean that your frog was croaking, sometimes all the air gets trapped in there, but absolutly nothing to worry aobut. how old is your frog? they usually start coraking at about 6-8 months old. and their throat does get a strange color, heres my whites and his throut does look a little odd, right after they croak though it looks much darker than this.
