Home Business Startup Question

I've been keeping boas for ten years and breeding for five. This is the first year in which I'll have to think about transforming my "hobby" into a business.

For those of you in CA that have already made this leap, what route have you chosen, i.e. sole proprietorship, or corporation? And how has that affected how you pay taxes here in the state?

I plan to be running this business from home as opposed to a storefront if that makes a difference in terms of which way to go??

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

There should be a website with info pertaining to your state in regards to starting a business. Our states (Illinois) website is pretty thorough in explaining the best way for you to start up. Whether it be a sole, LLC, Corp, etc. There are certain tax issues you'll want to understand before choosing any of them, which nobody is going to be able to tell you all about in a reply here. I'd start there, good luck!
