baby milk kings want to be together

lytlesnake Sep 12, 2006 11:48 PM

I got some really nice Florida king X Honduran hybrids from bluerosy. They're '06 hatchlings. One of them keeps squeezing through the tub divider in my Herp Enclosures rack to be near his sister. They seem fine together, but neither of them has eaten yet since I've gotten them, so I'm worried that one will try to eat the other.

Should I just put the male in a different container altogether? These two are the most expensive ones, so I'd hate for something bad to happen. This male has a pretty mellow temperment, especially for a baby. Still, I should probably separate them, huh?

This is an awesome hybrid. I'll post some pictures when they get a little bigger. Thanks.

separate them...as soon as possible...
Keeping them together is not a good idea by several reasons....
They may look docile...and they may not hurt each other.....but specially if they are not eating yet..you can find any day that one has eaten the other.
Though a more basic reason for keeping them separated is that you should quarantine every new adittion. And you have to do it individually.
Anyway housing kings/milks together is even a worse idea than any other species....and i doubt someone will tell you any different.

of course it´s up to you if you want to take the risk hehe.

I put the female in a large deli cup with a f/t pinkie last night and she ate it within an hour or less. Then I put the male in the deli cup overnight, and he still won't take f/t. He and one of the other clutch mates apparently only wants live pinkies, so I'll go get some right now.

I'll put the male in a separate breeder box or something. Looks like I need a baby rack.
