..yet another White's tree frog question

maestrOwen Sep 13, 2006 09:21 AM

My fiancee and got three small ones this week and they're pretty sweet frogs.

Anyway my question is do they need UV lights? I was thinking probably not because they're nocturnal, but I want to make sure...

thanks!

It really depends on who you ask. Some people say yes that it helps with digestion etc.

I don't, I have red eyes (also nocturnal) and my plants and frogs seem fine. I took the advice from someone that has kept them over many years and is also a breeder.

Just an FYI there are alot of people with Whites on repticzone's tree frog forum.

I would say that the light is more for the plants then for the frogs. They have a tendancy to sleep where little or no light gets to them anyways. I just use a dayglo bulb from exo-terra. My plants and the frogs are doing well.
