Skin shedding

raptorred Sep 13, 2006 12:04 PM

Hi, my snake is going into shed for the first time for me . her eyes started to cloud yesterday, today the are fully cloded and her colour has dulled quite a bit. She is 3-4 months old, I've had her for 1 month and a few days. From her record card her last shed was on the 8 August. She is 19-20 inches in length and 120 grms. My question is how long will it be about before her eyes clear up. I know that she will be in hiding for a bit but the books that I have say that she should have a soak once her eyes clear up to help her shed. I don't want to bother her and risk stressing her out just to see if her eyes have cleared up. Help please ??

Leave her alone and let nature take it's course - how long it takes depends on a number of factors - I've had some snakes go into blue, clear and shed within a 24 hour period and others that take a week. Double check her humidity make sure she has fresh water and let her do what she's gotta do.
