A Male Sulfur Lav. With all the combos in Brooksi which have yet to be produced, these snakes have to become more and more popular. Even if I was only a collector and not a breeder, I could not resist these snakes. Tom Stevens

Great photos and gorgeous snakes. I am looking for a golden high yellow now in fact... I love solid yellow, especially with iridescence.

But really, I was curious why so many people say that brooks are their favorite. The responses I got told me it's just a great all around snake in terms of feeding sheding, breeding, hardiness, color morphs, adult/juvenile coloration and temperment. interesting.

I didn't know if you knew or not, but they don't start out real yellow. The one below will be very yellow when he gets older. You can ask to see the parents to get an idea. Derek

Well I guess you will have to get a pair to find out why. HA HA HA HA!

Actaully it hard to put into words why people like them. There is nothing like holding one of these stout snakes as its calm muscular body glides through your hands. Its ease of breeding is a big plus for me. It does not take much but some newspaper and a 15 gallon aquarium to house an adult. The snake is not as tempermantal to heat and cold regurges and it makes a great pert. What else can you ask.

Everyone has a different reason for liking the brooks. I just touched on a few.

How do you rate a snakes desirabilty besdides what has been posted?

....you hit that one on the head with the "feeling as it glides through your hands". There is NOTHING like that feeling when you find a wild one for the first (or 2nd, 3rd, etc)time either.

Even a little canefield king is cool

and of course, some morphs are too!
