Celebrity Box Turtle (Pic)

We had a pet show at my workplace this past weekend. In addition to my ornate, I also took two TX banded geckos. I set up a nice display with lots of information typed up on placards in front of the enclosures, but I think only 1 of the hundred or so people present even looked at them.

Anyhoo, the turtle didn't win a prize, but my geckos won for "smallest pet" (total length around 3 inches full-grown!).

Pictured are Harold (female ornate I've had since 1982), me, daughter, and two Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders who served as judges. Apparently Harold is not quite a C cup!

Chris,

I hate to say it, but most people (men anyway) would be checking out those hot cheerleaders than your turtle! I'd be checking out both!

Neat that you've had that ornate since 1982. I have a 3 toed box turtle since September 1984, she is my very first pet turtle. Here's a picture of her.

Nah, they're like a lot of the more exotic herps at the pet shop--neat to look at, but too high-maintenance in the long run.

I've had my 3-toed since summer of '84 as well.
