In everyone's opinion....

......temperaments, characters and all that other stuff aside, what is the best python, purely in terms of beauty?
For me it's Boeleni but, since I don't have any (a situation I am trying to rectify), here is a pic' of my second placer. The Diamond Python (easy winner of the "Coolest Name" category).

Least to greatest:
3)Any kind of Blood Python with decent redness
2)Green Tree Python
1)Timor Python. Im sorry, but I take the Timor over Boelen anyday. But nice Diamond anyway.

For me, it's easily Green Tree Pythons.

I'm not just saying that because I have them in my collection. I've always thought so, even back in the early 90's when I saw the first one that I had ever seen in person...long before I could actually afford them.

Boeleni are also at the top of my list of all time favorites, along with lavendar albino Retics (my favorite albino anything), and a really nice classic jet black and bright gold Jungle Carpet also ranks up there. A good, high contrast gold and black Barneck is another one.

former amethistina complex (overall beauty)
viridis/spilota complex (vivid color)

I think that albino retics have to be the most beautiful snakes I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I have this small rule where I don't keep any snakes that could take my life. Next would be GTPs, diamonds, and high quality jungle carpets in a three-way tie.

#3 Jungle Carpet pythons. Not much in the snake world looks nicer than a jet black and lemon yellow carpet. I also love the ivory ones. My favorite though may be the 'German' type animals. 'High Black' kinda. Nice yellow rosettes thrown on a jet black background.

#2 Diamond Python. I find myself drooling over these all the time. I especially like the high-yellow specimens, but hell, they are all awesome.

#1 Chondros. They may win this one on just diversity alone. There are so many colors and phases. Aru's have the awesome white dorsal scales and stunning blue ventrals. Many Biak's retain a good bit of yellow. Sorong/Jaypura/Mainland animal's are known for their stunning blue dorsal patterns. You also have your might phase, high yellows, blue-line, and mixed lineage animals. What's there not to drool over with these guys?

Honorable Mention...(in no order)

Moluccan pythons, high-contrast barneck scrub pythons, Bredli, Boeleni, fuscus.

For me, it's the Green Tree Python, followed closely by the Savu python. Love them Both. (could be why I have both, hehe)
