Epicrates angulifer

Anyone keep these guys? I'm looking into obtaining one. The individual snake in question is either stunted due to diet or is a (from what I've gathered on how big they get) rather small one at around 4-5'. The person I'd be getting it from is someone I can't see purposely mistreating an animal, and says it hasn't grown in the few years since he got it. How common are such small individuals with this species?

Also, if you have any other tips, I'd love to hear them. And, of course, if I do get it, I'll be sure to post pics to get some second opinions on it's condition.

I have a pair of cubans, and a couple of last years litter as well.
My male isn't very big, 5-6' (170-180 cms) at around 4 years of age (wasn't a juvenile but still young when i bought them 3 years ago). Sure he was a bad feeder in the begining, but feeds very well now, but is nowhere as big as the female, not in lenght or weight.
So if its a male im not very surprised, have seen more adult males in that size. A female is another thing though.

In my mind it's pretty easy to keep these snakes, no real special demands. The biggest drawback is the tendency to be a bit "high-strung". But this is mostly concerning juveniles, and they tend to mellow down a bit by age.

Andreas,
....Those are very impressive looking. They look like they are exceptionally healthy.

I just picked up a trio of 18 month old Cuban boas and couldn't be happier. They are all around 3.5 feet long and feed really well. I have been wanting to work with these for a long time now and finally have the chance. I have never kept them before but have raised and bred Brazilian rainbows. They really are very cool snakes. Be sure to post some photos if/when you get your Jeff.
