Big S. TX lizard today..

Nothing special but this was pretty big as Spiny lizards go around a foot long. Found just north of the Rio Grande River in S. Texas. Too fast to catch ....JP

Nice shot, Jason. Getting good in situ shots of olivaceus can be tough. They always seem to be partially obscured by something.

Now you need to try and sneak up on a giant cyanogenys basking on a rock! Those big boys are tough to get near when they are basking!

I just happen to know a spot where several of those big'uns hang out. If I get time, I may head down there today. I need to get back into the swing of things...Jason

Hey Jason, are you herpin' in my backyard again?! LOL! Nice shot! Holler when you are down, we'll go and track down some stuff if you want! Just back from Black Gap, no alterna but got some cool shots of other stuff. I'll post 'em when I wake up! YAWN!

I'm trying to play catch-up from all the herpin I missed this year but work's got me busy as heck. I'm up for any herpin when I'm off (weekends) and not babysitting. My camera just needs something to do...heck I'm even shootin bugs

I hear that, I am not gonna pass up the cool bug or two, some of the grasshoppers were ginormous and even some black with red wings! Scary cool! Saw quite a few crotes; lots of molluses and atrox,a couple scutes, one viridus, and one dor banded rock, two bogeys, a rhino, a dor regalis, a dor grahami, tons of scelops, one uta, a few cnemedophorus, and one old male luteola. No alterna but that's the Gap! A fun trip, I need to get an adapter for my camera, it doesn't fit in the port. Pics to come.

Nice. For me spinys are one of the hardest lizards to catch. Here's one we caught in Arizona this Summer while staying in Las Vegas.
