Black pine snake questions?

Hi, new to this forum but not to the other forums. Anyways we have a local reptile show coming up and I have been think of getting a pit, mostly I have been pondering the black pine snake, but I have a few questions on them. I have read the care sheet about the caging and care of them. I was wondering what is the average size they get? what about girth? I have kingsnakes and ratsnakes, but I am looking to get into a somewhat larger snake, not too large, but decent size. Also what are their tempers like? I have read they are very mellow and like to come out of their cages, but then I have also read that they can be meaner then hell. Lastly how hard is it to find solid black ones without any pattern? so any info on this snake is appreciated. and if you want to share a pic that is appreciated to. thanks
