Unable to get into my internet site and needing to post some pictures for friends I loaded these up:

Most will be of no interest but there are nice ones of monitors in the Philippines, including Varanus mabitang and what I am certain (but can't prove) is a Filipino rudicollis. Sorry about the red writing but it costs so much to get pictures like that I can't afford to loose them yet.

Varanus Mabitang has to be one of the most interesting looking monitors I have ever seen. Keep up the great work. Thanks!

What a cutie! Men in kilts... nice..

That is a most interesting theory on the mabitang. I have read that being isolated on islands leads to some very different morphologies (the becarri, the cumingi), but...well... don't they still resemble the nominate form even a little?
From what I can see of that mabitang, it looks more indicus-like. Rudis have short forearms compared to other monitors, and a Roman, humped nose. Then theres the nares, jawline, scalation..Ah well, you're the biologist, you've seen many examples, I'll shut up now.

Congrats on getting so many examples to photograph. It seems they cannot elude you anymore.
Cheers.
D.
