Hi John,

thanks for that - very comprehensive! I know they mention not to use plants that are toxic or where pesticides have been used and I also know that YOU know that, but so many of the insects listed are on plants that are commonly sprayed with bio-cides(e.g. rose, veges,etc.). If it is from your own property and you know for a fact that no one has used any, then fine, but I am always afraid that some herp keepers may not pay attention to that, especially younger ones. Also, since pesticides are not always immediate (e.g. systemic - via plant's vascular system) insects may have consumed some then flown off to your organic vege patch.

You know how you have the FAQ's of cham care on your site? I wonder if a simple Do's and Don'ts list would be helpful, too. As we know, many of the posters want "quick & simple" answers rather than reading a book...just a thought. Actually I haven't checked out your site for a couple days so you may already have one!

lele-

Yes I am aware of that, and we should make that clear. I do not and will not feed wild bugs, I grow/breed my own or buy from reliable sources because I am not in the country or have a field to collect in. However, there has been allot of questions in the past about what bugs are okay to collect and feed, and there has also been allot of questions on where to purchase some of them. So when I came across that, I thought I would share it, I was actually looking for waxworm info for a previous post when I came across that.

Do and Do Not Do List sounds like a good idea, I am in the middle of building cages right now so my time is limited, please email me what you think should be included, I can write one up. That will be a great thing to have and update as new ideas come about! I will be posting new pictures soon.

Thanks

Another thing to consider. some states consider some of these insects agricultural pests and do not allow importation. Maybe add a note to check with the insect breeder/shipper about your state and any possible ban on entry. There are feeders we'd all like to use that are simply not legal to ship around such as walking sticks and grasshoppers. Some roaches too.
