Hey all,
I have a rat snake that I rescued in the woods of PA. It was tangled in a some sort of nylon fishing net (or something). Anyways he was extremely constricted in this netting.
I cut him out and brought him home to see if he would survive. After i cut him out where he was constricted real bad had some sweeling. The swelling is nearly gone at this point. How ever he has a lot of dmaged scales and a lot of places where the scales appear to be completely gone. What can be done about these areas to insure he heals nicely? He is extremely docile and should be real easy to work with. He iscurrently in anaquarium with news paper substrate and places to hide, simple and clean setup.
He hasn't eaten yet I have offered him a mouse 2x but i am sure he is pretty stressed out. He seems thin but it isn't too bad. He has pooped 2x and the day we got him home he drank a lot of water. He is probably over 40" long, he is much longer than my ball python.
