Hit or Missed thise year with 1st year.

I'm curious to know how many breeders used '05 males this year and if you hit or missed.
I chose to take the gamble and used 3 different '05 males. I wanted to produce 100% hets instead of using my backup het males and produce 50% possible hets. Of the 3 males only 1 produced. I still have a few females that are off feed and acting gravid but as of today, only 1 of the 3 '05 males has sired a clutch.

I missed with my 05... But I had a friend that had one that produced sperm, so I borrowed his. It's a craps game when it comes to that...

I think it's kind of sad for some breeders to promise that this years boys are going to produce... It's possible, but some people are expecting too much from the little guys! They are just babies!

I tried 2 05's. One male PIN and One spider. So far the male PIN has produced 1 of 4 and 1 of 2. We also have a 4 clutch in the incu. that are his. The 05 spider who was 600g did not produce.

This was our first year breeding.

Thanks,

Gary

Hello,

We have a male Pinstripe and a male Spider and both were produced in August 05'. We bred them to 5 Pastel females in early 06' and were rewarded with 3 clutches of Pinstripe X Pastel and 1 clutch of Spider X Pastel in June and July of 06'. Both males weighed in at about 600 grams at the time we started breeding them in February and March of 06'. I didn't think it could happen and was really surprised that both produced at such a young age and small size. Oh well just our little story. Take care and good luck to all.

Andrew
